Australian Beer Awards wins for Five Islands Brewing Company

I first visited the Five Islands Brewing Company in 2006 and soon fell in love with the great food and fantastic beer made on the premises. Then there's the location - directly opposite  North Wollongong Beach and next to the Wollongong Entertainment Centre.

Today I found out that they recently won three bronze and one silver  in the Australian Beer Awards. Well done to 'Pig Dog' and his team.

Our Dapto Draught and Barbeerian Wit both received bronze medals, whilst the Bulli Black  and Rust fared even better with silver medals. Five Islands Brewery, Wollongong Beach

Australia Day is a day that all Australians celebrate in their own way.

It was friend's birthday and we booked out the lounge at Five Islands Brewery, next door to the Wollongong Entertainment Centre and opposite Wollongong beach.

We first visited Five Islands Brewery a few years ago for Philip's birthday and we have returned many times since. There is a range of beers available that are made on site, including some specialty beers such as the Bulli Black, my favourite.

We invited some friends to join our celebrations and purchased three of Five Islands Brewery's world famous platters - the drinkers platter, the finger food platter and the mezze antipasto platter.
